UL Recycled Content Validation and Recycled Content

The popularity of green product marketing has caused a rise in the use of environmental claims, sometimes making it difficult to differentiate between products that are genuinely environmentally preferable and those that aren't. This is increasingly true today of recycled content claims in a market where the demand for high-performing recycled content exceeds supply.

The Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) has endorsed UL's validation program as a trusted, third-party program for the evaluation of post-consumer recycled plastics in products. As an endorsed service provider, UL is recognized for providing content validations that are reliable, consistent and accessible by both producers and users of recycled plastic resins according to the definition in ISO 14021:2016.
