Workshops for Recyclers

The Market Development Committee holds several regional workshops each year that are designed to work with solid waste management officials to include plastics in their collection programs; increase the volume and value of the plastics they collect if their recycling program already has plastics component; discuss markets for the materials; and demonstrate how recycling markets work.

In addition to sponsoring in person workshops for state and local solid waste officials, periodically APR will hold internet based conference call and powerpoint driven ‘webinars’ - or web based seminars on issues of interest. These have proven to be an effective way to deliver industry updates and to answer inquiries from the recycling management community in a timely and cost effective manner. Typically, APR will hold 2 or 3 of these annually. Webinar dates are posted on the website, and through targeted media and recycling organizations.
